Laundry Fabric Explore
Let baby touch and explore different fabric textures as you fold the laundry together.
In the Little Play app, this activity appears in week 21 of your baby's personalized plan.
How to play
1
Gather a few clean laundry items with different textures: a soft towel, a silky shirt, a cotton onesie, a fleece blanket.
2
Sit baby in your lap or on a blanket next to you while you fold.
3
Hand them one fabric at a time and describe what they feel: "This towel is soft and fluffy!"
4
Let them scrunch, wave, or mouth the fabric freely before swapping to the next one.
5
Try gently draping a light fabric over their hands or feet for a fun peek-a-boo moment.
What you need
• Clean laundry with varied textures, towel, silk or satin item, cotton, fleece, denim
Simple household items. No plastic toys needed.
Why it works
Exploring different textures builds tactile awareness and sensory processing. Naming what baby feels supports early vocabulary, and the shared moment during a daily chore strengthens bonding.
Good to know
Always supervise closely, avoid small buttons, zippers, or loose strings that could be a choking hazard.
