Warm Washcloth Touch, a baby activity for Newborn (0–4 weeks)

How to play

1
Warm a washcloth with warm (not hot) water and wring it out.
2
Gently place it on your baby's tummy, then arms, then feet.
3
Describe the sensation: "Warm and cozy on your tummy!"

What you need

• A clean washcloth

Simple household items. No plastic toys needed.

Why it works

Warm touch activates sensory receptors across different body parts and helps your baby map their own body.

Good to know

Always test the washcloth temperature on the inside of your wrist first; it should feel pleasantly warm, never hot. Wring out well so it's damp, not dripping.
