Sit your baby at the bottom of a staircase.
2
Place a toy on the second step.
3
Stay right behind them as they try to crawl up to reach it.

What you need

• Nothing at all. Just the two of you.

Why it works

Climbing stairs builds tremendous leg and core strength while introducing a new physical challenge.

Good to know

Always stay directly behind your baby during stair climbing. Use a baby gate on stairs at all other times. Practice only on carpeted stairs if possible.
